EAQUALS contributes to Council of Europe Seminar on the Linguistic Integration of Adult Migrants

Following two years of preparation, the Council of Europe held an important Seminar at its headquarters in Strasbourg on the Linguistic Integration of Adult Migrants on 26th-27th June 2008. EAQUALS is an international non-governmental organization with Participatory Status at the Council of Europe. In this role, EAQUALS was invited by the Language Policy Division to contribute to the planning and running of the Seminar. Richard Rossner gave a paper on the role of quality assurance in language education programmes for adult migrants, and in particular the way EAQUALS handles accreditation could be applied in this kind of provision, which is so important for hundreds of thousands of migrants from outside the EU who are contributing to the cultural and economic enrichment of many European countries.
