The Goethe-Institut is the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany. For more than 50 years we have fostered the knowledge of German and intercultural exchanges around the world. We offer German courses at every level all year round along with optimal preparation for our internationally recognised examinations. Our individual consultation and service will ensure your success. All courses include an extensive cultural and leisure-time programme, accommodation booking services and free access to our self-learning centres.
Göttingen is a renowned, historical university city with 136,000 inhabitants. Students and the university community account for 25 percent of the population, and keep the city's cultural life buzzing. Göttingen is at the centre of Germany and has convenient transport links in all directions. The Goethe-Institut can look back on more than 30 successfull years in Göttingen. It is housed in a splendid 19th century villa, just a 15-minute walk from the city centre, and has a large, park like garden and sport facilities. Student accommodation is in guesthouses, and sometimes within the institute complex and in som cases outside it. There are single and double rooms with showers and kitchens on the same floor. We also offer various apartments.
