I very strongly believe that lesson observation (whichever shape it takes) is one of the most effective CPD tools we have at our disposal. Over the years, a lot has been said and written about observations and post-observation feedback. The sandwich approach to feedback has been described by a growing number of people as essentially cynical and couterproductive, and yet it still seems to be very much the pattern used for giving feedback. In this webinar I would like to look at how NVC (non-violent communication) can help us communicate effectively, with clarity and without resorting to the simplification that the sandwich approach seems to be in any kind of feedback situation, including post-observation feedback.
