As artificial intelligence becomes an integral part of education, teachers are rethinking how to teach writing and deliver feedback effectively. This webinar explores how AI can be purposefully integrated into the writing classroom to enhance both process and product, while maintaining pedagogical and ethical integrity. Drawing on classroom-based practice and research at Sabancı University, Dr. Özlem Zengin demonstrates how generative AI tools can guide learners through brainstorming, drafting, revising, and self-editing. Participants will see how to design prompts that foster creativity and critical thinking rather than overreliance, and how to use AI for formative feedback that supports autonomy and reflection. The session introduces an “AI Feedback Framework,” showing how teachers can scaffold AI-generated comments to focus on content, organization, and language accuracy. Practical, ready-to-use task examples will illustrate how to help learners analyze and improve their writing through dialogue with AI, transforming feedback from a static correction into an interactive learning process. Participants will leave with adaptable classroom templates, prompt samples, and clear strategies for guiding students in using AI ethically and effectively in their writing development.
