The webinar will focus on the contrast between the realities of the ELT classroom in the pre-Covid context, and the situation as it is now. Here we will look at a number of different challenges brought about by the restrictions placed on interaction and close contact, as well as the opportunities provided by not only the integration of technological solutions but a reinterpretation of some classroom norms. We will look at creating new models of best practice in this classroom and what teacher competencies need to highlighted and developed. We will look at limiting the factors that may hinder the routes to quality education and learning and to focus on what teachers are doing in their context to overcome certain obstacles. Finally, we will look at the opportunities afforded us by this new context and how we can use it to actually exploit learning in the classroom.
