Cecília Harmer

Cecília Harmer

Cecilia has been working in ELT since 1993. She is currently an Insight Application manager at CUP&A. She is also Joint coordinator of IATEFL’s Teacher Development Special Interest Group (TDSIG) and has presented both face-to-face and online at many regional, national, and international conferences including Braz-TESOL, TESOL US, TESOL France and IATEFL. Cecilia has written materials and conducted training sessions for schools, universities and ELT organisations. 

Donald Staub

Donald Staub

Dr. Donald Staub is the Director of the School of Foreign Languages and the Director of the Office of Micro-Credentials at Izmir University of Economics in Izmir, Türkiye.  His doctorate from Eastern Michigan University (USA) is in Educational Leadership. His areas of specialization are quality assurance, student retention, as well as micro-credentials and digital badges.  Donald is an inspector for Eaquals as well as DEDAK, the Turkish accreditation scheme for English language programmes. 

Jasmin Silver

Jasmin Silver

Jasmin is passionate about helping learners thrive and become agents of positive change in the world. She works with teachers, learners and educational organisations to integrate essential skills into language teaching that enable students to realise their full potential and contribute meaningfully to global challenges. 

With over 14 years’ experience in the education sector, Jasmin specialises in bringing life skills, including sustainability skills, employability skills and skills for wellbeing into the ELT classroom, helping learners develop capabilities that extend far beyond language proficiency. 

Jasmin has taught English as a Foreign Language, German, Psychology, PSHE and Mindfulness across diverse contexts in the UK, South Korea, Germany and online. She also worked as an Insight Application Manager for Cambridge University Press & Assessment, integrating research into effective teaching and learning as well as life skills frameworks into teaching materials. 

Juliette Synnott-Lee

Juliette Synnott-Lee

Compliance & Quality Assurance Manager | ELT Specialist | Eaquals Inspector 

Juliette Synnott-Lee brings over 20 years of experience in the English language teaching (ELT) sector, having held academic and management roles across Bangladesh, South Africa, the UAE, and her native Ireland. She holds a Delta and an MA in TESOL, and has worked extensively in both university settings and private language centres, serving a variety of positions such as Teacher trainer, Director of Studies, and Centre Manager. 

Currently, Juliette is the Compliance and Quality Assurance Manager for English Path Global, where she oversees QA systems across multiple international centres, ensuring alignment with regulatory and accreditation standards. She is also an Eaquals accreditation inspector, contributing her expertise to the evaluation and continuous improvement of ELT institutions worldwide. 

Multilingual and internationally minded, Juliette is also fluent in French and has conversational knowledge of Spanish and Afrikaans. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys hiking, jogging, and relaxing on warm, sunny beaches.

Keith Borg

As well as being Director of Studies at EC Malta and Embassy Summer Malta, a school with 75 teachers at peak, Keith is also Group Academic Operations Manager supporting all EC Directors of Studies. He is also part of the Centre for Academic Literacies & English Communication Skills, which offers the MA in Applied Linguistics and TESOL at the University of Malta.

Executive Director, Eaquals

Lou is the Executive Director of Eaquals. She was one of the founding members of ELT Ireland, and served on the IATEFL Board of Trustees as the Associates Representative until 2021. Lou holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics, Masters in ELT, DELTA, TESOL Cert. in Leadership & Management and Trinity TESOL Cert. Her special interests are Young Learner teacher training, teacher cognition and management in ELT and she was the co-editor of Children Learning English: From Research to Practice (2015).

Nergis Uyan

Nergis Uyan

Nergis Uyan graduated from the Middle East Technical University’s Foreign Language Education Department in 1995 and received her MA in Management in Education from Bilkent University in 2005. She completed her DTEFLA from the University of Cambridge in 1999 and also received her ADEM (Advanced Diploma in English Language Teaching Management) in 2001.

She worked in several positions at Bilkent University School of English Language (BUSEL) including English Language Instructor, Head of Teaching Unit, Teacher Development Coordinator, Teacher Trainer and Member of the BUSEL Directorate from September 1995 to February 2010. She has also been working as a CELTA Trainer since 2007. She has been working as the director of Ozyegin University School of Languages (ScOLa) since February 2010.  She also served on the Eaquals Board as a trustee for two terms and as a co-author of the Eaquals Academic Manager Competency Framework (2021).

Dr. Özge Coşkun Aysal is the Assistant Director of the School of Foreign Languages at Izmir University of Economics in Izmir, Türkiye. Specializing in educational management, student success, and micro-credentials, Dr. Coşkun Aysal has contributed to international collaborations, strategic planning, and competency-based education. She has authored works on psychological safety and learning organizations, and is a trained inspector for the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA) as well as DEDAK, the Turkish accreditation scheme for English language programmes 

Ozlem Zengin

Ozlem Zengin

Dr. Özlem Zengin, an English Instructor at Sabancı University, holds a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction and CELTA/DELTA certifications. Her work focuses on innovative, tech-enhanced language programs and AI integration in education, emphasizing adaptive learning, personalized feedback, and learner autonomy. She is dedicated to promoting AI literacy and exploring ethical, practical uses of AI in teaching, curriculum design, and teacher education for the digital age.

Pedagogical Solutions Manager & Team Lead for West Europe, Italy, and Iberia, Cambridge University Press & Assessment 

Rachel is an experienced teacher, trainer and leader. Starting as a secondary Drama and English teacher, she has taught diverse groups across various countries. Now, she leads a team covering West Europe, Italy, and Iberia, overseeing regional and local educational strategies and delivering tailored pedagogical solutions to support teams of teachers and institutions. Rachel has also authored a booklet of creative drama activities for Storyfun (Cambridge University Press). With a PGDE and DELTA, she is passionate about driving educational excellence, adapting to evolving needs, and fostering collaborative solutions.

Rihan Mustapha

Rihan Mustapha is an education consultant, executive coach, and leadership development specialist with extensive experience in higher education, international schools, and corporate learning. Rihan is a Fellow of Advance HE; she integrates systemic coaching, mentoring, instructional design, and emotional intelligence. Her work supports teacher development through reflective practice and aligns with global best practices in adult learning and leadership training. 

Robin Foggo

Robin Foggo PhD has been working at MEF University SoFL since 2014 and is the Associate Director for Curriculum and CPD. Prior to MEF University, he worked in a variety of teaching and training contexts in Turkey and the UK. His professional areas of interest are pronunciation, memory, teacher training and curriculum.

Sarah Breslin

Sarah Breslin

Dr. Sarah Breslin is the Executive Director of the European Centre for Modern Languages (ECML) and Head of Language Policy at Council of Europe.  

A passionate linguist with a thorough understanding of both policy and practice in language and general education, Sarah has worked in a range of sectors and countries, as a language teacher, teacher educator, in qualification development and in supporting teacher professional development. Prior to taking up post at the Council of Europe, Sarah was the Director of Scotland’s National Language Centre and of the Confucius Institute for Scotland’s schools. In 2020 Sarah achieved her Doctorate degree focusing on the contribution of the ECML to the professional growth of language teacher educators. 

Selen Sirin Dulger

Selen Sirin Dulger

Selen Şirin Dülger has been in the field of English Language Teaching since 2009, holding various roles in the School of Languages (ScOLa) at Özyeğin University. She currently serves as a Team Leader in ScOLa. She earned her BA and MA degrees through a five-year combined English Teacher Education program at Bilkent University in 2009. In 2024, she completed a second MA in Educational Management (non-thesis) at Anadolu University. Selen holds a DELTA from the University of Cambridge and is a CELTA trainer. She is also a member of the TESOL Türkiye Professional Council Network and a teacher trainer for Oxford University Press, Türkiye. Her areas of interest include educational leadership and management, professional in-service development, and student motivation. 

Şeyda Kurtaran Gürcanoğlu

Şeyda Kurtaran Gürcanoğlu is the founder and director of TAC Denizli Language School in Türkiye. With CELT-S and TESOL certifications, she specializes in CLIL, drama-based learning, and sustainable curriculum design. Şeyda is passionate about creating learner-centered programs that empower both students and teachers through innovation, cultural integration, and real-world impact. 

Sonali Bhattacharyya

Sonali Bhattacharyya

Sonali Bhattacharyya has a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics and is a Teacher Educator and Content Developer, conducting Teacher Development and Master Trainer programmes for Oxford University Press, India and a certified trainer for the Oxford Teachers’ Academy, OUDCE, U.K.  As a consultant for British Council and the Cambridge English Teacher Support Programmes in India she is engaged in training, monitoring and evaluation. She has also been conducting Teacher Training Programmes for a number of Institutions, Colleges and Universities across India. 

Sue Hackett

Sue Hackett has been involved as an advisor, project participant and senior inspector for EAQUALS for the last 25 years. She has a wide-ranging professional background in quality assurance, language education, assessment, academic integrity, textbook and materials writing as well as teacher training and curriculum design. She currently works as a freelance consultant.

Sultan Zeydan has been working in the field of English Language Teaching since 2005. She currently serves as a team leader at the School of Languages (ScOLa) at Özyeğin University. She earned her BA in English Language Teaching and an MA in Cognitive Sciences from Middle East Technical University. Sultan holds CELTA & DELTA from the University of Cambridge. In addition to her managerial responsibilities, she serves as a CELTA trainer, a teacher trainer for Oxford University Press Türkiye, and the chair of the TESOL Türkiye Promotion Professional Council. Her areas of interest include teacher training, academic leadership, and inclusive education.

Tony Prince

Tony Prince

Tony Prince has been involved in ELT and EAP for over 30 years. In that time he has held positions in middle and senior management at a number of institutions. He has worked with teachers and organisations as a consultant and trainer across a wide variety of fields, including pedagogy, technology and management. 
 
Tony is currently course coordinator for Presessionals at the University of Bristol. This role has involved him designing and building courses and materials with a range of technology. Changes in this technology over the last 5 years has necessitated a great deal of thinking not only about what we do but how we do it, and most fundamentally about the role of the teacher in all this. Work on and with the Eaquals LAP framework has provided Tony with a principled and practical basis for this.

The Director of MEF University SoFL, has been actively involved in ELT management and teaching since 2010. Her professional interests encompass leadership, motivational management, staff well-being, effective utilization of technology, effective observation feedback, online teaching, Flipped learning and continuous professional development.

Züleyha Tulay

Züleyha Tulay

Züleyha Tulay holds a MA in TESOL and is an English language instructor at Sabancı University, in İstanbul, Türkiye. She is passionate about creating inclusive and engaging learning environments. Her research interests include continuing personal and professional development, teacher education, learning technologies, and teacher research. Her current work explores the effective use of generative AI in teaching and learning.
