Giorgio Iemmolo

EF Education Trust

Born and raised in Southern Sicily, I have been a researcher and lecturer at universities in Italy, the US, Switzerland, Israel, France, and Germany. My educational background includes a BA in Classics, an MA in Theoretical and Applied Linguistics from the University of Pavia (Italy), and a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Pavia (Italy). I have lectured and published on topics including language variation, language acquisition, syntax, communication, and discourse strategies.

Since 2015, I have worked as Director of Academic Management for EF Education First in Zurich, responsible for the academic operations of language campuses in Europe, Costa Rica, and South Africa. This work has allowed me to manage diverse teams that create immersive educational linguistic experiences for students. I have also been deeply involved in Eaquals inspections for the Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Portuguese EF campuses, as well as Malta and Cape Town. In addition to Italian, my mother tongue, I speak English, French, Spanish, German, and Swiss German fluently.
