IH Newcastle Celebrates 40 Years
This month the International House Newcastle team celebrated their 40th year anniversary in high style at the sky bar of the Vermont Hotel overlooking the famous bridges and landmarks of the river Tyne and the beautiful skyline of the city with castle and cathedral.

‘The 100+ guests enjoyed the bubbly, the views, buffet, dancing and music over a 5 hour period which was great fun – which is exactly what we wanted to celebrate what we think is a great achievement. We were so pleased to see the guests which included industry friends from all over the world – Canada, South Africa, France, Italy, Brazil & N. Ireland. It was great they made this effort to join. in addition equally wonderful to share this evening with our IH team and many local friends and family who have helped us get to this grand age!! The highlight of the evening was the passionate speech made by Trevor about what this industry means to our economy and how little people realise it. We also heard from the founders son, Alex Mitchell, about how the school started and the first 2 students were from turkey being taught in their living room! Really interesting to hear how we have developed and hope to continue into the next decade with as much enthusiasm that has helped create what we have today!!’
