FEDELE Spanish Week 2025 Brought Together the International ELE Community

The fourth edition of Spanish Week, organised by Fedele, an Eaquals Associate Member and supported by the Eaquals Member Event Fund, took place in October 2025 in Logroño, La Rioja. The seven-day programme combined two virtual training days with five in-person days hosted in the city selected annually through a contest among regional Spanish school associations.

The event aimed to strengthen collaboration within the Spanish language-teaching sector by bringing together teachers, institutions, agencies, opinion leaders, and representatives from both public and private bodies. Its activities included cultural visits, training sessions, workshops, and meetings designed to foster professional exchange, responsible tourism, and greater sector cohesion.

The 2025 edition expanded its reach and participation. This year saw the highest number of federated centres, with 82 participating professionals from 67 centres, reflecting a notable rise in sector engagement. Representation was also broader than in previous editions, with participants from 42 nationalities, demonstrating growing international interest in the event.

The in-person programme was complemented by two virtual days that further extended access to the wider ELE community. The online training sessions recorded 464 registered participants and more than 7,257 platform visits, exceeding the figures from the previous year.

Spanish Week 2025 also welcomed a wider range of profiles than before, including academic directors from international Instituto Cervantes centres, leaders of teachers’ associations, representatives from language agency networks, and members of national institutions connected to education and tourism.

Through its combined in-person and virtual activities, the event continued to contribute to professional development and collaboration within the Spanish-teaching sector, supported in part by the Eaquals Member Event Fund.
