Cyprus Aydın University Achieves Eaquals Accreditation
Cyprus Aydın University Joins the Eaquals Community
Cyprus Aydın University
English Preparatory School has officially joined the Eaquals community following a successful accreditation process.
The achievement reflects not only institutional development, but also a clear commitment to shaping language education through thoughtful teaching practice, modern learning environments, and international engagement.
A learning environment shaped by diversity and experience
Cyprus Aydın University English Preparatory School brings together students from more than 30 countries in a
campus environment that is both modern and closely connected to the cultural richness of Cyprus.
Located in one of the island’s most historically and touristic regions, the university combines its setting with a strong academic identity. With more than 20 years of experience in higher education, it has developed a reputation built on structured learning, accessible facilities, and a student-focused approach to teaching.

Rather than positioning itself through slogans, the school emphasises how learning actually happens in practice, through engagement, communication, and active participation in the classroom.
Teaching English for real academic and everyday use
The English Preparatory School offers programmes designed to meet a range of learner needs.
These include:
- General English programmes that build core language ability
- Academic English courses that prepare students for university study
- Integrated skills courses that bring reading, writing, listening, and speaking together in practical contexts
All programmes are delivered through a communicative framework, where students are encouraged to use English actively rather than only study it theoretically.
The aim is simple: to help learners become confident users of English in both academic and real-world settings.
“Quality is never a finished process” – Sergen IRMAK
A key part of the school’s accreditation journey was articulated by Sergen IRMAK, EPS Director, who reflected on
the decision to engage with Eaquals:
“Driven by our core principle of continuous development—one of the most essential pillars of our English Preparatory School—we have consistently explored the most effective practices that can benefit both our students and our institution. In this process, Eaquals emerged as a significant opportunity.”
He continued by explaining that accreditation was seen not as an endpoint, but as a structured way of strengthening what was already being developed within the school:
“Recognising that accreditation is one of the most important steps in establishing and sustaining quality standards in language education, I decided to initiate this process.”
The training experience with Eaquals became a turning point for the team:
“When I had the opportunity to attend a training organised by Eaquals, I became aware that this journey would present certain challenges for both my team and myself. Achieving and maintaining quality is never an easy process.”
Still, confidence grew through preparation and collaboration:
“By the end of the training, I was confident that we could successfully complete this journey. I immediately initiated the necessary applications and shared this vision with my team.”
Seven months later, that decision led to accreditation:
“Today, approximately seven months after our initial application, we are proud to have achieved our accreditation. This accomplishment is the result of a dedicated, collaborative, and highly motivated team effort.”
Becoming part of the Eaquals community
We are pleased to welcome Cyprus Aydın University English Preparatory School as a newly accredited member of Eaquals.
Their journey reflects a practical and grounded approach to quality in language education — one that is shaped by people, teaching practice, and shared responsibility rather than abstract standards alone.
We look forward to their continued contribution to the Eaquals community and the wider field of English language teaching.
