Trinity College London launches ISE Digital worldwide

Eaquals Associate Member, Trinity College London is excited to announce the worldwide launch of ISE Digital, a fully computer-based English language qualification. The new digital English qualification offers a flexible and innovative way to assess language skills. The rollout will continue globally between now and March 2026.

This qualification reflects the skills learners need to succeed in study, work, and daily communication. It combines technology with a practical approach to testing English in real-life situations.

ISE Digital is part of the Integrated Skills in English (ISE) suite and is one of the shortest four-skills regulated exams available. It takes just 105 minutes. The test integrates reading, writing, listening, and speaking through realistic tasks. In the speaking section, a digital avatar guides candidates, helping reduce exam-day stress. Writing tasks include both online communication and academic responses. With automatic word counts and digital submission, the exam suits the needs of modern learners.

Results and secure digital certificates are available in as little as four days. Learners can access their certificates online, download them as PDFs, or scan a QR code. Each module provides a detailed score report, helping candidates see their progress and plan their next steps.

Teachers also benefit from a free support package. It includes a full timed practice test for levels B1–C2, classroom activities, and teaching resources aligned with the exam’s integrated approach. In addition, Trinity offers How to Prepare for ISE Digital packs, giving teachers more materials and activities to help students get ready for the exam.

Feedback from early users has been very positive. Many students said the avatar-led speaking tasks felt less intimidating than face-to-face interviews. Others liked typing their answers and praised the quick turnaround of results and digital certificates.
