Inclusive Language Classrooms: Free Teacher Development Event
Understanding Diversity and Inclusion in the Language Classroom
Creating inclusive learning spaces is an important part of modern language education. Bridge Mills Galway Language Centre and ATC Dublin are hosting a free professional development event focused on supporting diversity and inclusion in the language classroom, with particular attention to LGBTQ+ learners.
Supported by the Eaquals Member Event Fund 2026 and sponsored by Cambridge University Press & Assessment, the workshop is open to language schools and professionals working across the sector. It will focus on practical classroom strategies rather than theory alone.
During the session, participants will review published teaching materials that support inclusive practice. In addition, the workshop will explore small, realistic changes teachers can make to lesson design and materials development. These adjustments can help ensure classrooms feel respectful, welcoming and representative of diverse identities.
The event offers a valuable opportunity for teaching staff to reflect, share ideas and strengthen inclusive classroom practice.
To register for this free event, email your name, school details and contact details to Julie Cuttance at training@galwaylanguage.com by Thursday 12th February 2026. The event will be held at ATC in Dublin.
