21st YALS Annual Conference: Future in the Making

Eaquals is pleased to support the YALS Annual Conference 2026, through the Eaquals Member Event Fund, taking place on 10 October 2026 at the Palace Hotel in Belgrade, Serbia. Now in its 21st year, the conference brings together language teachers, academic managers and education professionals from Serbia and abroad.

This year’s theme, “Future in the Making: From Potential to Possibility”, invites participants to explore how innovation, leadership, technology and classroom practice can shape the future of language education.

A programme focused on the future of language education

The YALS Annual Conference 2026 offers a varied programme of plenary and practical sessions. These sessions are designed to give language professionals ideas they can take directly into their classrooms and organisations.

The programme includes contributions from experienced national and international speakers, including:

• Nataša Janković, PhD, Faculty of Education and Faculty of Dramatic Arts, University of Arts, Belgrade, on The Power of Classroom Dynamics.
• Beata Dudzińska, Pearson Sales Director for WCE Europe, on The Future of Education: Current Trends.
• Nicky Koutalianou, Bourtsoukli FLS & QLS Association, Greece, on Motivating Learners & Teaching Soft Skills Through A.I.

In addition, partner and project presentations will showcase initiatives such as the Debate Festival, Reading Competition and Erasmus+ opportunities.

Connect, learn and share ideas

Beyond the sessions themselves, the conference provides an opportunity for language education professionals to connect with colleagues, exchange practical ideas and discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the sector.

The event will take place at the Palace Hotel, 23 Topličin venac, Belgrade. The conference fee is RSD 4,000, which includes a buffet lunch at the Palace Restaurant and two coffee servings during the programme.

Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The registration deadline is 3 October 2026.
