SustainED 2026: Sustainability in Education Webinars
SustainED 2026: Exploring Sustainability in Education
Sustainability in education is no longer just a topic of discussion. It is becoming an essential part of how we teach, collaborate, and support our learners.
While individual actions matter, sustainability depends on a wider societal approach. Climate change, social relationships, technology, and global development all influence the way we think about sustainable practices in education.
For language educators, this means exploring how our classrooms can support not only language learning, but also responsible and forward-thinking perspectives.
The sustainED online series, organised by The Bridge – English Language Centre, an Eaquals accredited member, offers a space where teachers and education professionals can explore these ideas together.
What is the sustainED series?
The sustainED series brings together teachers, trainers, and education professionals interested in sustainability in education and language teaching.
Through online events and webinars, the series explores practical ways to integrate sustainable thinking into teaching practice and professional development.
Previous sessions have already covered a range of inspiring topics, including:
- Humanistic teaching approaches
- Inclusive CLIL methods
- Lesson ideas inspired by the work of Mario Rinvolucri
These sessions focus on practical classroom strategies while also encouraging educators to reflect on their role in building more sustainable and inclusive learning environments.
SustainED 2026 webinar series
The upcoming sustainED webinars, running from March to May 2026, will explore three key areas that connect sustainability with everyday teaching practice.
26 March – How Creativity Fuels Motivation in the Classroom
Creativity plays an important role in sustainable learning environments. When students feel engaged and motivated, learning becomes more meaningful and long-lasting.
In this session, participants will explore practical techniques for bringing creativity into the classroom. This includes using:
- Art-based activities
- Storytelling techniques
- Collaborative student projects
These approaches can help teachers create lessons that are both motivating and sustainable.
24 April – Elevate Your Online Lessons with AI
Digital tools are becoming a regular part of language education. However, many teachers are still exploring how to use them effectively and responsibly.
This webinar will focus on how educators can integrate:
- Online learning platforms
- Teaching apps
- AI-assisted activities
Participants will discover ways to make online lessons more dynamic while also considering sustainable teaching practices in digital environments.
26 May – Sustainable Growth and Self-Renewal
Sustainability in education is not only about environmental or technological change. It also includes teacher wellbeing and professional resilience.
This session invites educators to reflect on their own professional energy and growth. Participants will explore strategies to:
- Identify where their energy is being lost
- Develop habits that support long-term motivation
- Recharge and maintain professional balance
Supporting teachers is a key part of building sustainable education systems.
The current series will conclude with a special event dedicated to Mario Rinvolucri, with further details to be announced soon.
