The Anglo Foundation: Eaquals’ First Member in Mexico

Welcoming Our First Member in Mexico: Meet The Anglo Foundation

Some milestones deserve to be celebrated. Welcoming The Anglo Foundation as Eaquals first member in Mexico is certainly one of them.

It’s an exciting moment. Not only are we expanding into a new country, but we’re also welcoming an organisation that reflects what Eaquals stands for: quality education that creates a real impact beyond the classroom.

A Shared Commitment to Quality and Social Impact

Founded in 1943, The Anglo Foundation has spent more than 80 years using education and culture as tools to create opportunities and strengthen communities across Mexico. As a self-sustaining, non-profit organisation, every resource it generates is reinvested into improving educational programmes and supporting learners.

Its mission says it best:

“We are a self-sustaining, non-profit civil association. We work for the transformation of the community through education and culture in a bilateral exchange between Mexico and the United Kingdom.”

Moreover, that commitment goes far beyond language teaching. Every year, the Foundation invests around US$3

million in scholarships, training programmes and community support initiatives. As a result, learners from

different backgrounds gain access to opportunities that can genuinely change lives.

At the same time, the Foundation continues to strengthen educational and cultural ties between Mexico and the United Kingdom through English language programmes, examinations, school initiatives and cultural exchange.

More Than an English Language School

At the heart of the Foundation is The Anglo Academy. It offers General English, Business English and Exam Preparation courses for young learners, teenagers and adults, from Pre-A1 right through to C2.

Whether students learn face-to-face, online or through hybrid delivery, the focus remains the same: providing high-quality learning experiences that help people achieve their goals.

Celebrating Success at the Highest Level

One initiative the Academy is particularly proud of this year is its first C2 Graduation Ceremony. The event celebrates learners who have reached the highest level of English proficiency. It also recognises the determination, discipline and perseverance required to achieve this remarkable milestone.

It’s a reminder that language learning isn’t simply about passing an exam. Instead, it’s about recognising the journey behind the achievement.

In addition, the Academy supports a diverse community of learners, including individuals, businesses, educational institutions and public-sector organisations across Mexico. It also fosters a learning environment built on respect, inclusion, curiosity and continuous growth.

Beyond the classroom, learners become part of a wider educational and cultural community. Here, dialogue between Mexico and the United Kingdom is encouraged, and lifelong learning is celebrated.

Why The Anglo Foundation Chose Eaquals

For an organisation with such a long-standing commitment to quality, joining Eaquals was the natural next step.

As Simon Hedley Brewster, Chief Academic Officer, explains:

Simon Hedley Brewster of The Anglo Foundation

“The Anglo Foundation has always placed a high value on the quality of the products and services we offer.

Although we have a quality assurance unit, we were looking for a reputable, experienced external organisation which could accredit our quality in English Language Teaching. Once we opened discussions with Eaquals it was clear that they could offer the added value in quality assurance we were looking for.”

As our network continues to grow, we’re delighted to welcome The Anglo Foundation into the Eaquals community as our first member in Mexico. Their commitment to educational excellence, social impact and continuous improvement reflects the values shared by Eaquals members around the world.
