QLS, an Eaquals Associate Member, hosted the 2025 Athens Foreign Languages Forum on 30th March 2025 at the Royal Olympic Hotel in Athens. The event, supported in part by the Eaquals Member Event Fund, brought together educators and ELT professionals for a day of presentations and discussions. As a language teaching conference in Athens, it offered an opportunity to explore current topics in the field and share ideas.

The plenary sessions were led by respected figures in the field, including Dr. Jenny Liontou of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and author and trainer Katherine Reilly. Additional contributions from Stephen-John Taylor and Faye Sotiriou brought practical insights and coaching strategies to the table, ensuring a balance between academic theory and classroom practice.

The variety of topics reflected ongoing developments in teaching practices. One key highlight was a session on quality assurance in foreign language schools, which opened up discussion on what it means to be an accredited Eaquals institution — and how that status reflects a school’s dedication to high standards in teaching and learning.

The forum served as more than just a professional development opportunity; it created a platform for dialogue, connection, and the sharing of ideas that continue to shape the future of ELT.

QLS was able to host an event that not only brought value to attendees, but also strengthened the ELT community’s commitment to quality and collaboration.
